About Our Business

2 junk it is a licensed and insured Non-Hazardous Solid Waste Removal company.

We are family owned and locally operated, with over 100 years of combined knowledge in the
refuse removal industry. We have owned and operated several refuse removal companies in
Michigan, Florida, and Arizona. We have owned and operated a waste transfer station and a
landfill, in Michigan, and a waste transfer station, in Arizona. We owned and operated a
complete recycling center, processing scrap metals and paper products. We even
manufactured trash containers and compactors, building our company into one of the largest
suppliers of refuse containers to most garbage haulers in the southwest. With our combined
knowledge in all fields related to the garbage industries, we feel we are not only prepared, but
that we are more then capable to meet your needs head-on.

We deliver our 10yd containers to our residential customers using a pick-up truck and a trailer,
so as to not damage your driveway or sidewalks. The 10yd container can even be placed in
your garage so as to not violate any Home Owners Association rules and regulations and at
the same time provides you with some privacy while loading the container.
We deliver all of our larger containers using full size industrial duty roll-off garbage trucks.

Our goal at
2 junk it is to provide you with the quality of service and affordable pricing that you
would expect from a family owned and locally operated company.

FAQ

What is considered to be hazardous waste?
Paint, chemicals, batteries, and tires are the most common things that we are asked about. If
you are unsure in any way about an item, please take the time to contact us and ask if your
item is considered to be hazardous.

How long can we use the container without incurring any additional charges?
We allow up to 1 week for the 10yd containers and 2 weeks for the 12yd, 20yd, 30yd, and 40yd
containers. We don't have a problem if you need an extra day or two, but any longer then that
we charge $25.00 for each additional week thereafter. We are flexible.

How do I know what size container that I need?
You can relay to us what it is that you are looking to dispose of and we can try to assist you in
making a size selection. Please note that while without actually seeing everything that you are
disposing of, it can sometimes be hard to make these determinations over the telephone. This
is why we offer free estimates. We would be more then happy to look at what you will
disposing of prior to making a size selection.

What if the container is too big or isn't large enough?
We will assist you the best that we can to assure that you order the proper sized container to
suit your needs. But, please be aware that our recommendation is merely an educated guess,
therefore we DO NOT guarantee that a particular sized container will accommodate everything
that you are to be disposing of. Ultimately, the container size is a decision that has to be made
by you.

What are the dimensions of your containers?
Container height, width, and length can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, so the
following container dimensions are approximate:
10yd Container- 10' Long X 4' High X 8' Wide
20yd Container- 22' Long X 4' High X 8' Wide
30yd Container- 22' Long X 6' High X 8' Wide
40yd Container- 22' Long X 8' High X 8' Wide

What happens if we exceed the included disposal weights?
We charge a $25.00 overweight fee plus $50.00 per ton for the weight that exceeds the
included tonnage. The $25.00 overweight fee is added because the heavier that the container
is the more cautious our drivers need to be while transporting the loaded container to the
landfill. Therefore it takes us longer to service an overweighted container. We charge $40.00
per ton to cover the landfill fees associated with the excess tonnage. Please note that the
containers do have a maximum weight that is allowed. 10yd containers can not exceed 3 tons
and 20yd, 30yd, and 40yd containers can not exceed 10 tons. If they are in excess of these
weights, it is the customers responsibility to unload the container until it is below the
maximum weight allowed.

How much does a ton weight?
A ton is considered 2000 pounds. Therefore some items that you may be considering to
dispose of may cause the weight limits to be met quickly. For example, 1 cubic yard of dirt can
weigh as much as 1 ton. So if you were to fill a 20yd container with dirt it would weigh
approximately 20 tons. Not only would a roll-off truck never be able to lift the container off the
ground, but if it could lift it off the ground, it would never be allowed by law to travel on the
roadways.

How high can we load the container?
The debris in the container should not exceed the top of the sides of the container. If a
container has debris extending above the height of the sides, it can make the load potentially
dangerous to haul. While we do have tarps that cover the load, if the container is overloaded it
is still possible for debris to come out of the container and could result in injury.

Is 2 junk it insured?
Yes, our general liability coverage is $2,000,000.00 (most companies only carry
$1,000,000.00).
